Cavalier Performance Horses Royal Show Update

1/11/2010 Cavalier Performance Horses has enjoyed more success over the past few weeks at the Royal Adelaide Show and the Royal Melbourne Show. Stephen made the long trek over to Adelaide with the stunning Cavalier Bryn. Bryn was in good company there with many top horses from around the country. He came inside the top 10 every day and won a 3rd and a 4th placing.

The Royal Melbourne Show will no doubt go down as one of Stephen’s favorites as far as achievements go. Stephen took only a small team to the Royal Melbourne Show; Cavalier Bryn and Good Golly Miss Molly. He also took down Michael Cross who competed in the Juniors.

Stephen competed in the Part 3 Section and started off the show in great style coming 2nd in the A2 speed class on the first day. He then followed that up with a 2nd in the 6 bar, a further 2nd, 4th and 5th in other classes.

Bryn was also accepted into the Mini Prix which is for Part 2 horses and he placed 3rd in this event. Good Golly Miss Molly performed well over the show - although she didn’t win any placings she did have some lovely clear rounds. Molly is still new at this level and we look forward to her competing at upcoming shows.

Topping off a great show Cavalier Bryn was presented with a beautiful rug for ‘Leading Part 3 Horse’ for Melbourne Royal 2010. CONGRATULATIONS STEPHEN AND BRYN!

On the trip home Stephen made a detour with Niki’s mare Good Golly Miss Molly to compete in the D grade to give her an extra start… he brought her home C grade! A 3rd placing in the D grade was enough to bump her up a grade.

"We would like to thank Paula and the whole team at Saddleworld Canberra for their unwavering support! They are always happy to help us out with anything we need – be it in the store or over the phone!! We look forward to continuing our fabulous partnership! "
All the best and happy riding!!

Sponsored Rider Update

18/08/2010 Amy Reilly is our newest member to the Saddleworld Sponsored Rider Team. The following is a quick update on what Amy has been up to recently… “It has been a busy time for myself and Gundaroo Calypso Dancer (aka Harry), with a number of competitions and the National Young Rider Championships at Sydney International Equestrian Centre in July. The warm up to National Young Riders was at the Bowral Young Riders Championship, where we scored well and were awarded Medium Reserve Champion. The following weekend in Sydney we won our first Junior FEI and placed a third and fourth in the medium out of the majority of the best young riders in Australia. Two judges commented on a beautifully positioned rider, for which we owe thanks to Paula for her painstaking attention to detail in setting up Harry and I with our new Amerigo saddle. As a result of our success in Sydney, Harry and I have been selected into the NSW Young Rider Dressage Team as the Medium horse and rider combination.” The Team at Saddleworld Canberra would like to extend a huge congratulations to Amy on all of her success and wish her all the best for future performances.

Stephen & Niki Dingwall

13/07/2010 “The Cavalier Performance Horses Team headed off to the Camden Winter Showjumping Festival on the June long weekend. Deciding to only take 3 horses to this show made for a quieter show for all of us! Cavalier Cudose (Comet) stepped up this weekend to compete in both the 1.10 and the 1.20. This was his first start in a 1.20 event and he certainly held his own with only incurring 4 penalties on a tough enough track in a very competitive field. Comet placed 6th in the 1.10 event on Saturday in another very competitive field. We are very excited about this 5-year-old Camelot gelding. Good Golly Miss Molly and Niki had a very good weekend also placing 5th on the Amateur 1.20 Grand Prix on Sunday. Young Michael Cross who works for Cavalier Performance Horses also had a good show placing 6th in the 1.20 Open Grand Prix. Cavalier Bryn and Stephen Dingwall stepped out into a competitive field of horses in the Open 1.20 Grand Prix. He was competing against some very well bred and imported horses. After a textbook clear first round, Stephen was the first competitor through to the jump off. As the first rider out in the jump off he set a cracking pace, which proved to be unbeatable on the day. Congratulation to Stephen and Bryn – a winning combination!

Cavalier Performance Horses would like to thank Saddleworld Canberra for their unwavering and continued support!”

Sponsored Rider Updates

3/6/2010
ANNE RILEY: "Flowervale Houlana is starting to mature and show what she can do when her mind is on the job. Last year she earned a performance award from Dressage N.S.W. and was A.C.T.D.A. novice H.O.T.Y. At Sydney C.D.I. 2010 she finished 4th overall in the 6 y.o. Y.H. Class, the judges commenting on her future potential. Pity about her fear of prams and grandstands which stole her attention at times. I really wanted her to get used to the indoor but both attempts resulted with us being escorted by Heath Ryan on his seasoned horses. Something to sort out for future S.I.E.C. events! Two weeks later we had a fabulous comp at the Canberra Classic. We went home as Medium and Elementary Champions. I was also delighted to receive the Ina Knopse Memorial Award. My friend Ina was dearly loved by the equestrian community in Canberra and she was smiling on me that day. That afternoon the adrenalin had gone so Macho Grande suffered with a not so good P.S.G. test but I rallied for a 5th in the Inter 1. Last year Macho was A.C.T.D.A. small tour point score winner helping me to secure rider of the year for the third year in a row. Competition challenges horse and rider. Attention to detail, combined with support from Saddleworld Canberra help my horses work and play at their best."
Keilor Performance Horses: The last few months has been a busy time for us a new truck and some new young horses! The 2010 Braidwood show saw some good results from our horses – Ineshowen Cathal, a young WB gelding by Camelot jumped to be 6th in the C and D grade and 5th in his very first Grand Prix start. Keilor Trakydaks continued his good form with 4th in the C and D and 3rd in the Open Grand Prix. Recent ACT Showjumping Club competition days have seen Trakydaks win and place at the 1.15m-1.25m level and Ineshowen Cathal also placing in the 1.25m classes. For Dubbo show we had a very young team on the truck – the 3yo Vivant gelding, Keilor Vertigo and a 4yo Warlord II mare Keilor Wishlist both made the maiden voyage. With both horses showing huge scope, ability and placings in height classes with have great expectations for their futures. Caitlin made a return to the hack ring riding the Riding pony X TB gelding Fencourt Just Tops and at Nyngan Show, had wins and places, going on to win Reserve Champion Galloway out of a highly competitive field

Cavalier Performance Horses Gundagai and Royal Canberra Show 2010

Well summer has drawn to a close but the success of cavalier performance horses keeps on going. Our next set of shows were Gundagai Show and Ranvet Riverina Championships. We had a very successful show with our Young horses fairing very well in the competitive company. Cavalier Bryn ridden by Stephen won the D grade on the Friday and then backed it up again on Sunday to take the win in the D grade again. Having started the show half way through D grade with these two wins under his belt Cavalier Bryn is now in C grade. Both wins were well deserved and it is nice to see all Stephen’s hard work pay off. Other successes at Gundagai were Amanda Leyshan riding her TB gelding Cavalier Request. Amanda bought Cavalier Request from Stephen and Niki and now works for them as a working student. Amanda placed 4th in one of the D grades in a beautiful double clean round.
Canberra Royal Show was the next weekend and Cavalier Performance Horses were hoping to replicate their recent successes at the Royal! Off to a good start with Amanda on Cavalier Request doing very well in good company to come away with 4th in another lovely round on the Friday. The Saturday brought more success. Niki riding Good Golly Miss Molly had a beautiful clean round to come in 3rd place, followed closely in 5th by Amanda in the A2 speed D grade.

Stephen was equally as pleased with Cavalier Bryn who came in 3rd in the C and B grade A2 speed round. Keeping up the good work on Sunday saw Niki Dingwall and Good Golly Miss Molly win the D grade AM5. With only 3 clean rounds through to the jump off the pressure was on. But Molly showed that she was made of the good stuff and pulled out a very fast clean round.
